Raleigh Pioneer 2 for sale

This is an used Raleigh Pioneer 2 bike for sale. Specific variant:

• grey frame;
• 21 inches (centre to top);
• man/diamond frame version.

See product description on the Raleigh website or Amazon. It's not just the bare bike, this offer includes:

• rack;
• mud guards;
• kick stand;
• chain guard;
• bell;
• three spare spokes;
• cable lock with two keys.

The following parts have been replaced from the original:

• pedals (larger and lighter);
• both tires;
• rear tube;
• rack (still aluminium and rated for 25kg);
• brake and gear cables;
• chain;
• rear sprockets;
• a dozen spokes on the rear wheel;
• brake pads.

This bike was purchased new in London in April 2012. Since then it has been used mostly for long distance day trips across South East England and most notably on a seven months long tour around Europe. Hence it is a bit battered but still very functional. There are some cosmetic problems:

• some scratches on the frame (but no rust);
• brake noodles are rusted (this doesn't actually affect the brakes);
• small tear in the saddle but it's been like that for over one year and hasn't gotten worse.

If you want the feeling of a brand new bike there is some maintenance you will need to perform but that doesn't prevent it from being rideable:

• chain needs replacement (5 minutes if you have a chain tool);
• rear wheel needs trueing (10-20 minutes job if you have a spoke key and know what you are doing);
• rear rim has bumps you will feel when braking but I have been riding it like that for over 4000 km without any actual problem;
• the chainset/crankset could use a replacement;
• the brake pads are well in use but still OK for a while.
